Below you will find the most commonly used patterns to start using your Fretboard Escalator. 

There are countless more but if you can master the ones below you will be much farther than 90% of guitarists out there.

If you like you can also write with a felt tip marker the intervals on the pegs as you like to see them. First place the peg in the hole on the fretboard so that it sits straight. Then use a fine tipped sharpie maker to write on the interval number. The pegs only go in two ways so the numbers will look good if you remove the peg and put it back in later.
